Bologna has a rich culinary tradition and is called “la grassa” (the fat). Let’s go to discover why browsing the Medieval market, where traditional shops selling local specialities abound. The itinerary includes food&wine tastings and a complete cooking show where you can learn why tortellini are Bologna’s most celebrated traditional meal! A cheese shop that opened in the 1273, the oldest osteria in Italy, …I will tell you the history behind the food traditions strolling around Piazza Maggiore and the Two Towers. 

Food&wine tastings that replace lunch and Cooking show that I will arrange for you (35 euro per person to be paid on site) include: 

  • Artisanal mortadella “Bologna” with focaccia 
  • Balsamic vinegar and Parmigiano Reggiano
  • Tortellini paired with Pignoletto wine

If you have more time we can explore together the Mercato delle Erbe, Bologna’s first modern market and complete the tour with a gelato tasting and a visit to the Archiginnasio, the oldest original Bologna University building.
